Cautiously Adventurous….sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? I can’t remember exactly when I heard this term first, but I distinctly remember thinking, that describes me perfectly. The cautious part of the equation has always fit my personality. Even as a child I remember being scared and nervous about new things. I had a comfort zone and pretty much stayed within it at all times. And when I did venture out, it never seemed to go well for me, thus affirming in my own mind that I should have just stayed put.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve remained cautious (I think it’s in my DNA) but I’ve learned how to be adventurous within my own realms. I realize that my idea of adventure is quite different than most. But for someone like me, an introvert by nature, adventure can take on many forms. Like starting this blog, for example. While many find it quite easy to put their entire lives on the internet, pictures and all, that thought is terrifying to me. But if I can do it cautiously, then starting this blog definitely feels like an adventure. And that’s what it is.
I hope that whomever stumbles upon my blog will enjoy the things I write out about. Nothing I post is going to be earth-shattering, but there are things I’ve tried, recipes I enjoy, and places I’ve visited that I want to share with others. Perhaps it may inspire someone to have an adventure themselves, even if it means going about it cautiously. 😉
